I love painting glass, and I've always wanted to try painting a cut glass. The different way light reflects on the various planes of the glass always intrigue me.
Waking up dormant artistic aptitude by painting as often as possible.

We were in KC a few weeks ago and I managed to get some new pictures to paint from. This one is of a famous local burger joint Town Topic.
I'm a sucker for sunlight streaming through windows and what it can do to simple objects. A glass bowl of pears on our kitchen table was irresistible!
We were in Sedona, AZ this past spring and came across this scene on our way to a hike. I liked the warm colors of the truck and surroundings compared to the cool colors of the camper.
My brother-in-law sent me a photo he took from his drive home after visiting us in July. So much about the photo I loved! The sky, the bright barn sides facing the sun and the glancing low sun hitting the tops of the corn.
There's been a lot of rain this summer but it hasn't lasted for days, just a storm popping up every few days. The farmers must be happy about all the rain mixed in between days of sunshine.
We were driving home in the late afternoon just after one such Passing Storm, and I captured this scene with my phone. Rich colors, both warm and cool across the landscape!
I love small town roadside ice cream stands. They are always well lit and prominent in the heart of the town. I especially like them on summer evenings, when it's not quite dark yet but the lights are on. This is the second one I've painted and I think there will be more.
